DIY TIP: Streamline Your Night Lights

DIY TIP: Streamline Your Night Lights

If you ever have to get up in the middle of the night, you know how much of a pain it can be. Turning on a light isn’t really an option, as you don’t want to wake anyone else up. And not only can fumbling around in the dark be noisy, it can be dangerous, for you run the risk of stubbing a toe, tripping over a stray toy or worse.

To make life easier (and a little cleaner) you have the option of installing guide lights. These are super easy to install and you don’t need an electrician to do it. You simply remove your current outlet face plate, snap on the new face plate, then use a screwdriver to attach the face plate as you normally would. What I like about these lights is they don’t require any special wiring, batteries aren’t needed and it frees up your outlet to be used for something else.

These run anywhere between $12-$15. In my search I have not found that one brand is better than another, however some come with motion detectors and there are different styles, of course.
